Jordi Viladoms is the fastest in the Serres Rally Prologue
The Serres Rally, second round of the Rally Pro Series 2013, took officially the start today with the prologue that will decide the starting order of tomorrow’s first stage.
The 16 km Prologue was more than a warm up as the riders tackled a technical path on a stony terrain and difficult navigation that required an enduro style riding.
Among the 72 bikes and quads at the starting blocks, many of them take part at the Rally Pro Series. Jordi Viladoms, GasGas Team, finished first (unofficial lap times) with 19’05, +1’13 in front of Henk Knuiman. Alessandro Fadda, 5th in the Serres Rally classification, closes the unofficial podium of the 2nd round of the Rally Pro Series. Frans Verhoeven, Yamaha Team, is provisionally 7th in the RPS classification, 10th in the Serres Rally ranking.
Jordi Viladoms: “It was not an easy start, the navigation was difficult and you had to pay a lot of attention to each note. It was a tough terrain, if this is just the start I’m curious to see tomorrow’s stage”.
Alessandro Fadda: “I struggled a bit to get into the race rhythm again. For me it was a good warm up, for sure it was a demanding prologue with difficult navigation”.
Frans Verhoeven: “It was good fun, with the big rally bike it was not an easy stage but for sure it was a good training. The prologue required an enduro style riding, the navigation was quiet difficult and you had to stay focused on every single note. I made a mistake and I lost some time but all in all it was a good day”.
